Welcome to the FantasyProjection week 3 fantasy football rankings! I am more than happy to put week 2 in the rear view mirror after the injury plagued week it was. We lost some strong fantasy players in week 2 including Saquon Barkley who will be out for the remainder of the season and Christian McCaffrey who will miss 4-6 weeks. In times like these accurately ranking players becomes more and more important as you need to find the best replacements possible to fill these big holes in your lineups. We are two weeks into the season and I have already re-freshed the projection model with updated average player stats and defensive rankings. These changes have resulted in even more accurate rankings that will help you win your league! The rankings below are based on .5 PPR settings good luck in week 3!

Kyler Murray
Kyler Murray is absolutely looking as good as advertised in his second year in the NFL. Murray threw for 286 yards and a TD while rushing for 67 yards and another 2 TDs on the ground. Murray has proven to be the dual threat quarterback that all fantasy football owners love and has proven that he has top 6 QB upside each an every week. Murray will face the Detroit Lions in week 3 who were the 26th worst defense agaisnt opposing QBs in 2019 and are current allowing the 7th most fantasy points to the position after 2 weeks in 2020. The Cardinals will be able to run up the score in this matchup and I believe the Lions will try to keep pace creating a perfect environment for a huge Kyler Murray fantasy day. Watch for Kyler to potentially break the top 5 at the position this week. FantasyProjection: 247 yards 1.3 TDs passing 59 yards 0.5 TDs rushing
Matt Ryan
It looks like once again Matt Ryan will be a top fantasy football option at the QB position in 2020 thanks to a solid receiving core and mostly a pass heavy approach to each game script. In week 2, agaist the Cowboys Ryan threw 36 times for 273 yards and 4TDs. Although the Falcons lost this game in glorious fashion Ryan still continued to put up QB1 numbers. Ryan will have a much tougher matchup in week 3 when he faces the Chicago Bears who may not be as strong a defense as in the prior year they have still allowed the 3rd fewest fantasy points to QBs this year…(keep in mind they played the Giants and Lions). Even if they have not been tested, personnel wise they will be a tougher matchup than Ryan has faced thus far. Regardless of the matchup I anticipate Ryan will have plenty of volume to remain a QB1 in week 3. Fantasy Projection: 277 yards 2 TDs passing

19 | Melvin Gordon DEN vs. TB | 13.4 |
20 | David Johnson HOU at PIT | 13.4 |
Aaron Jones
Aaron Jones absolutely blew up in week 2 when he rushed for 168 yards and 2 TDs and added 4 receptions for 68 yards and another TD against the Detroit Lions. This was the kind of game that Jones has that can easily win you an entire week with getting limited performances from the rest of your team. Jones obviously may not continue at exactly this pace, but he has eased any fears of producing relative to where you drafted him. Jones will face the Saints in week 3 which should be a high scoring matchup ripe for another big scoring opportunity for Jones. The Saints were 13th against opposing RBs in 2019 and are looking just as strong so far in the season. Again, I do not expect a game quite as nice as this past week, but Jones will continue to be a must play. FantasyProjection: 74 yards 0.5 TDs rushing 3 receptions 29 yards 0.2 TDs receiving
Nick Chubb
There were many fantasy owners sweating over the Nick Chubb situation after just 1 week and I’m assuming all those who were worried are now satisfied. Chubb looked great in week 2 when he rushed for 124 yards and 2 TDs while adding another 9 yards through the air on one reception. This was the exact kind of performance we needed to see from Chubb to confirm his status as an RB1 moving forward. Chubb will face the Washington Football Team in week 3 who were the 30th worst agaisnt the run in 2019, but currently have allowed the 2nd fewest points to the RB position 2 weeks into the season. Washington’s defense is much improved and will be a tough matchup for Chubb. Due to volume I still anticipate a strong game out of Chubb… not as good as this week, but you are starting him in almost all fantasy football situations. FantasyProjection: 91 yards 0.5 TDs rushing 2 receptions 19 yards receiving

24 | Diontae Johnson PIT vs. HOU | 11.8 |
25 | T.Y. Hilton IND vs. NYJ | 11.5 |
Calvin Ridley
Calvin Ridley has been on a whole different planet this season and is cementing himself as a WR1 in fantasy football leagues. Ridley went off in week 2 when he had 7 receptions for 109 yards and 2 TDs agaisnt the Dallas Cowboys. This was another pass heavy game for the Falcons as mentioned above and the continuation of this offensive scheme will benefit Ridley for games to come. Ridley will face the Bears in week 3 who were a tough defense against opposing receivers in 2019 and are continuing to prove to be same challenge in 2020. Ridley will continue to put up big numbers especially if Julio Jones is hindered by an injury he sustained in week 2. Expect more strong games out of Ridley starting againt with next week. FantasyProjection: 6 receptions 76 yards 0.6 TDs
Allen Robinson
I will be the first to say that I was fairly high on Allen Robinson coming into the season and now I am getting a bit concerned. So far this season, Robsinson only had 8 receptions for 107 yards across 2 games with no TDs. This may be a decent stat line for 1 game, but it not what you hoped for from Robinson through 2 games. I am very opptomistic about a turn around for Robinson in the near future if not starting with next week. In week 3 Robinson will face the Atlanta Falcons who so far this season have allowed the 5th most fantasy points per game to the WR position. The Falcons have been in extremely high scoring games that have forced opposing teams to throw and throw often. I do not anticipate this pattern will change against the Bears which will beneift Robinson. This is the week Allen don’t prove me wrong. FantasyProjection: 6 receptions 74 yards 0.6 TDs
Tight Ends
Rank | Name | Projected Points |
1 | Travis Kelce KC at BAL | 12.9 |
2 | Mark Andrews BAL vs. KC | 12.5 |
3 | Zach Ertz PHI vs. CIN | 11.3 |
4 | Tyler Higbee LAR at BUF | 10.8 |
5 | Darren Waller LVR at NE | 10.6 |
6 | Hunter Henry LAC vs. CAR | 10.2 |
7 | Jonnu Smith TEN at MIN | 10.1 |
8 | Mike Gesicki MIA at JAX | 9.9 |
9 | Noah Fant DEN vs. TB | 9.7 |
10 | Evan Engram NYG vs. SF | 9.6 |
11 | Dallas Goedert PHI vs. CIN | 9.1 |
12 | Jared Cook NO vs. GB | 9.1 |
Tyler Higbee
Well there’s the Tyler Higbee we were expecting to see again based off of the end of 2019. In week 2 Higbee put up a monster stat line of 5 receptions for 54 yards and 3 TDs against the Philadelphia Eagles. Goff looked to his big TE often in the redzone and it appears their connection is as strong as ever. It will be very interesting to see if this pattern can continue through the rest of the fantasy football season, if it can Higbee will be top 10 TE the rest of the year. In week 3, Higbee will face the Buffalo bills who have currently allowed the 8th most fantasy football points per game to the TE position. This could be another Higbee week if all things go right for the TE. FantasyProjection: 5 receptions 62 yards 0.4 TDs
