Week 15 Fantasy Football Rankings

Welcome to week 15 of the fantasy football season and round 2 of the playoffs! I hope you were able to make it through the first round unscathed or had a BYE which many people needed to survive due to the crazy week we had. We had plenty of top WR’s do nothing for their fantasy owners as well as some major injuries like Melvin Gordon who may be done for the season. Below I have put together the week 15 rankings which I know will help you get to the fantasy championship next week or the week after. Enjoy and good luck in all fantasy endeavors.

Quarterbacks
  1. Kirk Cousins, WAS QB vs. CAR
  2. Matt Ryan, ATL QB vs. SF
  3. Aaron Rodgers, GB QB at CHI
  4. Derek Carr, OAK QB at SD
  5. Philip Rivers, SD QB vs. OAK
  6. Tyrod Taylor, BUF QB vs. CLE
  7. Tom Brady, NE QB at DEN
  8. Cam Newton, CAR QB at WAS
  9. Russell Wilson, SEA QB vs. LA
  10. Dak Prescott, DAL QB vs. TB
  11. Marcus Mariota, TEN QB at KC
  12. Drew Brees, NO QB at ARI
  13. Ben Roethlisberger, PIT QB at CIN
  14. Andrew Luck, IND QB at MIN
  15. Carson Palmer, ARI QB vs. NO

Kirk Cousins is the 4th best fantasy QB in 4 point passing TD leagues over the season and is my favorite play at the QB position this week against the Carolina Panthers. The Redskins offense has found its groove in the run game it is allowing Cousins to sling the football all over the field. He takes on the Panthers this week who are 3rd worst in the league against the pass on a yards per game basis (272) and have allowed 24 touchdowns over the season. I expect this to be a competitive high scoring game that will allow Cousins to throw at will in order to keep up. I project him to throw for 375 yards and 3-4TDs this week.

Tyrod Taylor has been a fairly safe option at the QB position over the fantasy season scoring at least one passing or rushing TD in every week except for two out of the season. In addition 7 out of the 13 weeks has resulted in 2 or more TDs. Taylor offers the rare combination of passing and rushing ability that only helps to make him more safe as well as providing him some additional upside. In addition to his overall capabilities, he is facing one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL in the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are last in the league in passing TDs allowed over the season at 30. I don’t mean to belittle the already heartbroken fan base of the Browns, but they just aren’t good. Tyrod should have no problem dismantling this offense and leading fantasy teams on in the playoffs. I project Tyrod to throw for 240 and 2 TDs while also getting 35 yards rushing and another TD.

Running Backs
  1. Le’Veon Bell, PIT RB at CIN
  2. LeSean McCoy, BUF RB vs. CLE
  3. David Johnson, ARI RB vs. NO
  4. Ezekiel Elliott, DAL RB vs. TB
  5. Devonta Freeman, ATL RB vs. SF
  6. DeMarco Murray, TEN RB at KC
  7. Carlos Hyde, SF RB at ATL
  8. LeGarrette Blount, NE RB at DEN
  9. Lamar Miller, HOU RB vs. JAC
  10. Thomas Rawls, SEA RB vs. LA
  11. Bilal Powell, NYJ RB vs. MIA
  12. Jordan Howard, CHI RB vs. GB
  13. Jay Ajayi, MIA RB at NYJ
  14. Kenneth Farrow, SD RB vs. OAK
  15. Isaiah Crowell, CLE RB at BUF

LeGarrette Blount may have one of the least flashy play styles at the RB position and is not a household name, but he gets the job done. Blount is currently the 7th best RB in .5 PPR leagues and is being used in heavy doses by the Patriots each game. This week he faces a Broncos defense whose name brings fear into the hearts of opposing QBs, but should delight the ears of opposing RBs. The Broncos are 29th in the league in rushing yards allowed per game (127) and have allowed 12 TDs over the season. I expect the Patriots to continue to feed Blount this week especially when the game slips away from the Broncos and the Pats are able to run out the clock. I project Blount will have 90 yards and 1 TD in week 15.

The most unfortunate of unfortunate things happened this past weekend to owners of Melvin Gordon…a potentially season ending injury. Gordon was on of the most utilized RBs each and every game this season and the Chargers offense continued to operate around the RB even after Gordon left the game. Kenneth Farrow is the next man up and has shown that he is the direct hand cuff to Gordon. During the week 14 game Farrow gained 55 yards rushing and 23 yards receiving on 6 catches against the 5th best defense against the run (Carolina 90 mpg). This performance far exceeded my expectations for Farrow especially against a tough defense and it was very nice to see the Chargers continue to use him in the same volume as Gordon. Farrow now takes on the 26th best run defense in the Oakland Raiders an is an RB2 for me this week. I project Farrow will have 65 yards rushing and 5 catches for 30 yards this week.

Wide Receivers
  1. Antonio Brown, PIT WR at CIN
  2. Odell Beckham Jr., NYG WR vs. DET
  3. Mike Evans, TB WR at DAL
  4. Jordy Nelson, GB WR at CHI
  5. Julio Jones, ATL WR vs. SF**
  6. Amari Cooper, OAK WR at SD
  7. T.Y. Hilton, IND WR at MIN
  8. Demaryius Thomas, DEN WR vs. NE
  9. Larry Fitzgerald, ARI WR vs. NO
  10. Dez Bryant, DAL WR vs. TB
  11. Sammy Watkins, BUF WR vs. CLE
  12. Tyrell Williams, SD WR vs. OAK
  13. Jamison Crowder, WAS WR vs. CAR
  14. Tyreek Hill, KC WR vs. TEN
  15. Doug Baldwin, SEA WR vs. LA
  16. Emmanuel Sanders, DEN WR vs. NE
  17. Stefon Diggs, MIN WR vs. IND
  18. Davante Adams, GB WR at CHI
  19. Alshon Jeffrey, CHI WR vs. GB
  20. Michael Crabtree, OAK WR at SD
  21. Steve Smith, BAL WR vs. PHI
  22. Rishard Matthews, TEN WR at KC
  23. Brandin Cooks, NO WR at ARI
  24. Golden Tate, DET WR at NYG
  25. Julian Edelman, NE WR at DEN

Jordy Nelson looks like the good old uber productive Jordy Nelson that all fantasy owners know and love. Over the past 7 games Jordy has had over 90 receiving yards 5 times and has caught at least 1 TD in 6 out of 7. In one of the weeks where he did not go for over 90 yards (Week 14) he had 2 TDs to boost his fantasy point total. He is taking on the Bears this weekend who have actually been pretty good at defending the pass, but at this point I’m barely looking at match-ups for Jordy. You can safely lock him in as a high-end WR1 week in and week out. I project Jordy will have 8 catches for 80 yards and 1 TD this week.

As stated in the QB reviews this week, I believe Kirk Cousins has a monster week this week mainly due to the amazing match-up against the Carolina Panthers. With Jordan Reed still seeming to try to get healthy, the main beneficiary this week of Cousins blow up game will be Jamison Crowder. Crowder has been a fairly quiet 14th best receiver this year in .5 PPR leagues, but don’t let the big names around him confuse you. He is not a fluke, he is the real deal and he will only continue to get better this week. I project Crowder will have 8 receptions for 80 yards in week 15.

Tight Ends
  1. Travis Kelce, KC TE vs. TEN
  2. Tyler Eifert, CIN TE vs. PIT
  3. Greg Olsen, CAR TE at WAS
  4. Jimmy Graham, SEA TE vs. LA
  5. Delanie Walker, TEN TE at KC
  6. Jordan Reed, WAS TE vs. CAR
  7. Kyle Rudolph, MIN TE vs. IND
  8. Cameron Brate, TB TE at DAL
  9. Ladarius Green, PIT TE at CIN
  10. Zach Ertz, PHI TE at BAL
  11. Martellus Bennett, NE TE at DEN
  12. Antonio Gates, SD TE vs. OAK

Martellus Bennett is the beneficiary of Gronk missing the rest of the season for the New England Patriots. Last week Bennett hauled in 4 passes for 70 yards and 1 TD. He has an even tougher match-up this week, but I know Brady will find a way to get Bennett the ball regardless of the Broncos wishes. I project Bennet will have 5 receptions for 60 yards in week 15.
