Welcome to the week 8 fantasy football rankings! The following rankings have taken into account all of the most recent injuries and break out performances from week 7 to best help you set your lineup in week 8. Use the rankings as your guide for stat sit decisions and good luck in week 8!
Quarterbacks
- Patrick Mahomes, KC QB vs. CIN
- Ben Roethlisberger, PIT QB vs. CLE
- Aaron Rodgers, GB QB at LAR
- Kirk Cousins, MIN QB vs. NO
- Andrew Luck, IND QB at OAK
- Tom Brady, NE QB at BUF
- Jared Goff, LAR QB vs. GB
- Drew Brees, NO QB at MIN
- Andy Dalton, CIN QB vs. TB
- Jameis Winston, TB QB at CIN
- Deshaun Watson, HOU QB vs. MIA

- Mitch Trubisky, CHI QB vs. NYJ
- Baker Mayfield, CLE QB at PIT
- Matthew Stafford, DET QB vs. SEA
Kirk Cousins had a decent performance in week 7 throwing for 241 yards and 2 TDs, of course one of those TDs went to his favorite target Adam Thielen. I expect Cousins will have an even better showing in week 8 against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints have been taken adavantage of on defense and are currently 5th worst against the passing on a passing yards per game basis (298 ypg). The Saints have also allowed 13 passing touchdowns over the season to opposing QBs. Cousins ends up as the 4th QB in the FantasyProjection rankings based on his skill and this juicy matchup. Fantasy Projection: 350 yards 3 TDs
Andy Dalton is coming off a game he would most likely want to forget against the Chiefs where he threw for only 148 yards and 1 TD. Luckily for Dalton, he is facing the worst team against the pass in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I expect Dalton will have a bounce back game against this porous defense and will feed his main targets A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd. Dalton ends up in the top 10 at the QB position in the FantasyProjection week 8 rankings. Fantasy Projection: 310 yards 2 TDs
Running Back
- Todd Gurley, LAR RB vs. GB
- Kareem Hunt, KC RB vs. DEN
- Saquon Barkley, NYG RB vs. WAS
- James Connor, PIT RB vs. CLE
- Joe Mixon, CIN RB vs. TB
- David Johnson, ARI RB vs. SF
- Marlon Mack, IND RB at OAK
- James White, NE RB at BUF
- Alvin Kamara, NO RB at MIN
- Adrian Peterson, WAS RB at NYG
- Kerryon Johnson, DET RB vs. SEA
- Christian McCaffrey, CAR RB vs. BAL
- Phillip Lindsay, DEN RB at KC
- Nick Chubb, CLE RB at PIT
- Mark Ingram, NO RB at MIN
Kerryon Johnson FINALLY had his break out game in week 7 against the Miami Dolphins. Johnson rushed 19 times for 158 yards and caught 2 passes for 21 yards. Johnson has been good the entire season averaging 6.4 yards per carry, but was not given the workload he deserves. With Theo Riddick potentially out again an the coaching staff seeming to lean Johnson’s way I expect he can again end up in the top 12 RBs in week 8. Johnson also face the Seahawks this week who are the 9th worst against the run allowing 121 yards rushing per game. I expect Kerryon will have another big game this week. Fantasy Projection: 75 yards 2 receptions 23 yards 0.5 TD
The new broke late last week on Friday that Carlos Hyde would be traded to the Jaguars prior to week 7. This was HUGE new for Nick Chubb owners as he was destined for a RB1 workload. Chubb received that workload against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he rushed 18 times for 80 yards good for a 4.4 yards per carry average and 1 TD. With the backfield mainly to himself, Chubb is now a high-end RB2 low-end RB1 for the remainder of the season. This week he comes in as the FantasyProjection 14th ranked RB. This week Chubb has a tougher matchup against the Steelers who are allowing 98 yards rushing per game good for 11th best in the NFL. Even though it is not the best matchup, the workload and upside will keep Chubb as a high-end RB2 this week. Fantasy Projection: 75 yards 0.5 TDs
Wide Receivers
- Adam Thielen, MIN WR vs. NO
- A.J. Green, CIN WR vs. TB
- Antonio Brown, PIT WR vs. CLE
- DeAndre Hopkins, HOU WR vs. MIA
- Davante Adams, GB WR at LAR
- Tyreek Hill, KC WR vs. DEN
- Michael Thomas, NO WR at MIN
- Mike Evans, TB WR at CIN
- Odell Beckham Jr., NYG WR vs. WAS
- Robert Woods, LAR WR v. GB
- Emmanuel Sanders, DEN WR at KC
- JuJu Smith-Schuster, PIT WR vs. CLE
- Jarvis Landry, CLE WR at PIT
- T.Y. Hilton, IND WR at OAK
- Stefon Diggs, MIN WR vs. NO
- Kenny Golladay, DET WR vs. SEA
- Tyler Boyd, CIN WR vs. TB
- Brandin Cooks, LAR WR vs. GB
- John Brown, BAL WR at CAR
- Alshon Jeffery, PHI WR at JAC
- Josh Gordon, NE WR at BUF
- Doug Baldwin, SEA WR at DET
- Golden Tate, DET WR vs. SEA
- Will Fuller, HOU WR vs. MIA
- Julian Edelman, NE WR at BUF
T.Y. Hilton came back last week and immediately connect with QB Andrew Luck especially towards the end of the game. Although Hilton only had 4 receptions for 25 yards, he managed to haul in 2 TDs. Hilton is a trusted asset for Luck and as he heals even more the success Luck has been having will translate directly into points for Hilton. This week Hilton faces the Oakland Raiders who are in the middle of the pack against opposing receivers allowing 275 yards per game and 13 TDs over the season. I don’t think that Hilton will have an issue with this defense as he lands at the WR14 spot in the FantasyProjection rankings. Fantasy Projection: 7 receptions 90 yards 0.5 TDs
Tyler Boyd had a down week in week 7 against the Chiefs when he had 3 receptions for 27 yards. This was just one down week among other very impressive weeks from Boyd who will bounce back in week 8. Boyd will face the worst team against receivers in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers are allowing 341 yards receiving per game and 18 TDs to opposing receivers over the entire season. Both of these stats are the worst in the NFL. If there is any matchup made for a bounce back this is the one. Fantasy Projection: 6 reception 75 yards 0.5 TDs
Tight Ends
- Travis Kelce, KC TE vs. DEN
- Zach Ertz, PHI TE at JAC
- Rob Gronkowski, NE TE at BUF
- George Kittle, SF TE at ARI
- Jared Cook, OAK TE vs. IND
- Eric Ebron, IND TE at OAK
- David Njoku, CLE TE at PIT
- Trey Burton, CHI TE vs. NYJ
- Jimmy Graham, GB TE at LAR
- Jordan Reed, WAS TE at NYG
- Vance McDonald, PIT TE vs. CLE
- O.J. Howard, TB TE at CIN
Jared Cook is back from his week 7 BYE and is now missing fellow receiver Amari Cooper. Cooper was traded to the Cowboys this week which will open up even more targets for Cook who was already a target monster. Cook faces the Colts this week who are 12th worst against opposing receivers. The addition of more targets to Cook and his fairly good matchup makes him the FantasyProjection TE5 in week 8 rankings. Fantasy Projection: 6 receptions 55 yards 1 TD
